Taverna Mira, Seafront, Parikia, Paros

Wednesday, July 2, 2014

At the seafront, with view to the bay of Parikia, you find Taverna Mira. In summer you can sit by the sea and enjoy a beautiful sunset, when the sun disappears in the aegean sea. But as well in times as eastern or November it is cosy to sit at the oven and have some Mezes, a Suma (=Tsipouro) and a chat! The owners are a swiss-greek couple, Esther and Yiannis. They give you immediately a feeling of being home. You will often meet the same people there, because everybody keeps coming back, and it´s a familiar atmosphere. The food ingrediences are excellent, for example delicious high quality olive oil from Peleponnisos, Yiannis home. A very good veggie-kitchen - for example Imam and Briam, are freshly made everyday. Very famous are the Zucchini-Balls with the Tsatziki-Boat! And a dream is the lamb-lemonato!! The Chef is a great little lady with a lot of temper and a heart of gold!!! She loves to create artful decorations If you look for a familiar place with good, honest greek food, if you are a relaxed person and do not need "posh" places, if you like a good price-performance ratio with good ingrediences, then visit the Mira - you´ll love it!

Here´s the Imam:

And here are the Zucchini Balls:

Oktopus-Stifado in red wine (so so yummie!)

The good good Xorta!

The Seafood-Sphaghetti:

And of course you can go inside the kitchen and have a chat with the Chef!

Yiannis, the owner, cares personally about decorations

P.S. to the Taverna Mira, as I think honestly this is important, especially for ladies !!! The Toilets are brilliant, new, clean and beautiful!!!
